We don’t believe in contracts. We want you to continue to train at Master Rim’s Taekwondo because you love it and because you get results.

All of our Instructors are accredited through World Taekwondo and with Vulnerable Sector Checks.

Taekwondo is a Korean traditional martial art and a modern Olympic Sport. It is recognized as one of the oldest forms of martial arts in the world, reaching back over 2000 years and was initially created to teach the commoners to defend themselves against invading forces. Taekwondo literally means Tae = foot, Kwon = hand, Do = the way. Taekwondo utilizes both mental and physical development which provides a setting for emotional well-being, freedom from stress and fear, a complete system of self-defense, and a truly unique lifestyle.

Taekwondo is beneficial in many ways as it helps develop the mind, body and soul. Taekwondo helps the mind to focus, and not get distracted as well as teaches the mind to quickly react and think under pressure. Taekwondo helps the body by developing muscle strength, flexibility, balance, stamina, explosiveness, dexterity, agility, endurance and weight control. Taekwondo helps the soul by teaching students to stay positive at all times and to have an indomitable spirit. Taekwondo is a total learning activity and lessons are tailored to each student’s age and skill level.

Absolutely Not! Prior martial arts experience is not needed to take classes at Master Rim’s Taekwondo. However we welcome all students that have prior martial arts experience as well.

No, there are lots of other students starting out just like you! The best part is that our classes are grouped by level, so there will be other students of beginner belt levels in the classes you attend!

New belts are earned when a student properly displays that they have adequately learned the required curriculum of their current belt level during a belt promotion exam (also referred to as a Belt Test). Before a student can qualify for a Belt Test, they must meet the prerequisites of their belt level. Our Masters & Instructors will prepare the students during class time and award students with tapes when the prerequisites have been met. Different color tapes are given depending on which prerequisite is met, this way our Instructors and students themselves can keep track of their progress! Students will be tested on the very same prerequisites they have accomplished during class at the Belt Test. This ensures that the students have the highest probability of passing their Belt Test.

The time to earn a black belt is determined by the frequency and time duration a student trains per week as well as their ability and dedication to learning the art of Taekwondo. Each student’s progression is different, However students that train consistently and stick to the recommended training schedule may achieve their black belt in approximately two to three years.

For maximum growth and development one should train as often and frequently as possible while still being able to fulfill the rest of their daily responsibilities and tasks. For beginners, we recommend two classes a week to get the full benefits of martial arts.
